| have had done to the engine. I am assuming that the engine does not have low compression pistons and that the head gasket is OEM spec? The labor rate you probably will have to eat ( speaking from experience ) unless you ship the car back to the engine builder ( is that an option ? ) and work something out. If that is not possible, no way I would pay 3.5K labor. it would be cheaper to just ship the entire car to a reputable Z vendor and pay their stated rate ( retail on an engine pull is about 2k, side job will be anywhere from $800 - $1500 depending on technical expertise ). This option will allow one persion to R+R the entire car for you. Good luck. Hope this helps
